Hello! I’m Emily.

Steam Town Studio is a manifestation of my heart’s work and my commitment to children being seen, heard, and valued in a collective pursuit of wonder. I began this with a dream to create a magical space that celebrates children as thinkers, dreamers, risk-takers, and creators. What a privilege it is to turn this dream into creation right here in our local community of Scranton, PA! 

I hold my B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. I have a research publication published in the Journal of Family Studies and have presented qualitative and quantitative research for campus, regional, and national audiences. I’ve worked with children in many capacities (preschool director, curriculum coordinator, etc.), and it’s always been my greatest honor and joy. My favorite role is being an aunt to my three nephews and niece. They inspire me to look at the world with wonder!
